Mu Alpha Theta

Welcome!

Welcome to the Mu Alpha Theta website! Mu Alpha Theta is the National High School Mathematics Honor Society with 99,000 student members in June 2013 in more than 2,000 schools. We are dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school. So you could say it's basically like math club.

Becoming a Member

There are two types of membership for Mu Alpha Theta: Full Membership and Associate Membership.

To become an associate member in Mu Alpha Theta, one must complete up to at least Algebra II with a 3.0 MATH GPA . To become a full member, one must complete the conditions for becoming an associate member and then enroll in Calculus to attain full membership.

Full members have an annual due of $20, this does not apply to associate members.

Becoming an Officer

Officer positions are given to those people who are full members. Essentially, all the full members math averages through Pre-Calculus are compiled together, averaged out, and ranked. The member who has the highest math average becomes President, the member with the second highest average becomes Vice President and so on and forth.
